Antenna Close Coupled Unit (CCU)
Typically installed with the Radio Interface Unit (RIU) and Power Control Unit (PCU), the Antenna CCU receives RF signals and converts them from electrical to optical signal for distribution to the RIU. The antenna mounting of the CCU minimises signal loss and electromagnetic disturbance to maximise signal fidelity. There are two optical outputs for a low band of 1 GHz to 18 GHz signals, and a high band of 10 MHz to 6 GHz signals, which are combined into a single fibre optic cable.

Antenna Power Control Unit (PCU)
Typically installed with the Antenna Closed Coupled Unit (CCU), this enclosure provides the power supply and control functionality, taking a main power supply (e.g., from a ship) as an input and outputting DC power to the Antenna CCU. The PCU also provides a control switching functionality in that there is a manual switch to enable the Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA’s) in the Antenna to be bypassed as required for sensitivity tuning.

Radio Interface Unit (RIU)
Typically installed with the Antenna Close Coupled Unit (CCU), and consists of two products for optical-to-electrical conversion. It takes the optical signal from the Antenna CCU and converts it to electrical for output to customer radio equipment. The two products within the RIU cover a high and low band, with the ARK1-612 for 1 GHz to 18 GHz, and HRK1C for 10 MHz to 6 GHz. Both these products include dual redundant power supplies as standard.
